BARNALA: Senior advocate HS Phoolka, on Sunday, demanded cancellation of the clean chit given by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in cases relating to 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Phoolka has been arguing the protest petition filed in Karkardooma courts on behalf of Lakhwinder Kaur, who had lost her husband Badal Singh during the riots. The order of additional chief metropolitan magistrate SPS Laler has been reserved for November 17.
Addressing a press conference here, Phoolka said, “If our protest petition against the clean chit to Tytler is not accepted, we will go in for an appeal against the decision. Earlier, we had filed ‘revision petition’ against the second closure report. Allowing our appeal, additional session judge Anuradha Shukla Bhardwaj had rejected the report of CBI on Tytler and had passed orders for further investigation.”
