LUDHIANA: Ousted Aam Aadmi Party leader Yogendra Yadav paid glowing tributes to martyr Kartar Singh Sarabha here on Monday.

Former AAP leader Yogendra Yadav paying tributes to Kartar Singh Sarabha on Monday.

Addressing a gathering at Sarabha, Yadav lamented that despite making maximum sacrifices in the freedom struggle, Punjab was in a deep political, economic and social crisis.

“The best tribute to martyrs is to emulate their ideals. To pay homage to martyr Sarabha in the right sense, people should come forward to fight any attempt to disrupt communal harmony,” said Yadav, who was accompanied by Swaraj Lehar leader professor Manjit Singh

“Punjab has faced many problems in the past. A generation had to bear the brunt of militancy. Now the real challenge before the state is to fight the menace of drugs,” he said. On ‘Sarbat Khalsa’, Yadav said though the congregation was constituted for a purpose, it failed to move in the right direction.

“Some forces with vested interests are bent upon dividing the people on basis of religion. One should give a befitting reply to such elements by putting up a united fight against communalism,” Yadav added.
