Manpreet slams politics of confrontation

Chandigarh : People’s Party of Punjab chief Manpreet Badal today alleged Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal’s policy of confrontation was not only against his political adversaries but also people of the state.
In a statement, Manpreet said the arrogance with which Sukhbir was repeatedly throwing challenge to the people and the language used by him was not in the interest of anyone at any level.
The PPP chief lambasted the ruling party leaders for creating scare as was evident from their speeches at Sadhbhavana rally in Gurdaspur.
He said in the past, thousands of people lost their lives due to politics of opportunism that sparked huge fire that continued for years and the Akali Dal could not escape responsibility.
He said the state government had gone to the extent of muzzling voices of dissent, including of the media.
