CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh has demanded that the entire fleet of buses owned by Akali leaders, including the ruling Badal family, be grounded until the drivers had gone through rigorous tests to check why they were causing so many fatal accidents so frequently.

About the Akali leader’s company whose busses ran two girls over a few days apart, Amarinder said: “As an immediate step, all bus of this company should be grounded, as the driver had become a law unto themselves, who don’t give a damn to the police or the transport officials.”

“Nobody dares to check whether they have valid driving licence, or good eyesight and fitness for the job; and how many drive under the influence of alcohol and drugs,” said the state Congress president.
