CAPTAIN VISITS BEAS DERA

AMRITSAR: Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday visited the headquarters of Radha Soami Dera at Beas, about 35 kilometres from here.

Amarinder’s spokesman termed it “a courtesy visit”. The former chief minister spent about two hours at the dera and had lunch with its chief, Gurinder Singh Dhillon.

Congress legislator Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi and former Congress MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki accompanied Amarinder. No Congress leader from Amritsar was present. “Captain Amarinder Singh and Radha Soami Dera head Gurinder Singh Dhillon are friends,” said Captain’s spokesman.

The visit was Amarinder’s first to the dera after becoming the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president.
