Amritsar : State Congress intellectual cell president Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal today joined the Aam Aadmi Party. He is the second prominent leader after Sukhpal Khaira to quit the Congress and join AAP.

Dhaliwal alleged he was disappointed with the working of the party and found no difference between the SAD and the Congress.

Even as AAP’s Punjab affairs in charge Sanjay Singh said more leaders from the Congress and the SAD were keen on joining AAP, but ruled out the induction of former Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu for now. He said Sidhu never approached them on the matter. He added that similar was the case with PPP chief Manpreet Singh Badal.

He said leaders of different parties were unconditionally joining AAP impressed by its ideology. He said all inducted leaders would have to work like an ordinary worker. However, they could move up the rank on the basis of their calibre and performance, he said.

Sucha Singh Chhotepur, AAP state convener, said they were expecting a huge turnout at their Maghi Mela rally in Muktsar on January 14. He called upon party workers to reach the venue in full numbers to listen to the views of their leader Arvind Kejriwal.
