Chandigarh : Senior Congress leader and Lehragaga MLA Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has condemned the Pathankot terrorist attack in which three Indian Jawans lost their lives.

Bhattal said the fact that a terrorist had a telephonic talk with his mother in Pakistan, clearly proved that the neighbouring country had a hand in it.

However, she was appreciative of the fact that the Indian security forces along with the Punjab Police foiled the attempt of the terrorists who wanted to inflict major damage to the Indian Air Force base at Pathankot.

Bhattal said it was the second terrorist attack in the state, which was a cause for concern. The state had earned peace at a heavy cost, a gain that cannot be allowed to fritter away. In July last year, there was a terrorist attack on Dinanagar police station in Gurdaspur district in which seven terrorists were killed.

Bhattal also criticised the foreign policy of the NDA government for unconditionally extending a hand of friendship to Pakistan.
