SANGRUR: Former chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has announced that the party’s protest against the custodial torture of a Sangrur resident would end in the town and would continue at Chandigarh with the same demands.
In town to meet protesting party workers, she claimed that the state government had failed to maintain peace in the state and claimed that lack of coordination between the Centre and the state encouraged terrorist activities, of which Pathankot was just an example.
“The Badal government should be dismissed with immediate effect and governor’s rule should be imposed in Punjab,” she said, adding that the next course of action to highlight the state government’s failures would be chalked out by Punjab Pradesh Cong Committee chief Captain Amarinder Singh.
“The Badal government is ruling Punjab on the policies of General O’Dwyer and is letting people die, while it remains busy in divide and rule,” she alleged.
