Khatkar Kalan : Ahead of Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Punjab, PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh today lashed out at him saying that he was a native of Haryana and could not in any way protect the rights of the Punjabis, who had several unresolved issues with the neighbouring state.

Kejriwal is scheduled to visit Muktsar on the occasion of Maghi Mela on January 14.

Captain said: “Kejriwal hails from Hisar. He will never be able to protect the rights of Punjabis on interstate disputes. It is an important issue that the people of Punjab must rethink before coming out in support of AAP.”

Earlier, the PPCC chief flagged off a march by activists of the Punjab Youth Congress from Khatkar Kalan in Nawanshahr. The march is held in support of renaming the Mohali airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

The five-day padyatra will cover 115 km to culminate at Mohali.
