Capt starts youth interaction drive from Gurdaspur

Launching a programme aimed at wooing the young generation in view of the 2017 Punjab assembly elections, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Capt Amarinder Singh interacted with youths of Dera Baba Nanak assembly segment here on Wednesday.

The youths highlighted the issues of unemployment, drug abuse, brain drain and shifting of industry from Punjab.
Amarinder promised them that the resolution of these issues would be part of his policies if the Congress came to power in 2017.
Addressing the interaction organised by Dera Baba Nanak MLA and Gurdaspur district Congress committee president Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Amarinder said generating jobs and eradicating drug menace would be his top priorities.
Reacting to an HT report (‘MPhil, BTech, MCA, all in line for peon’s posts in Bathinda’, January 20), Amarinder said he was saddened to know that highly qualified youths were applying for menial government jobs.
