Capt in Gurdaspur, Bajwa stays away

Kalanaur : PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh today visited the border area. But the party cadre has felt all is not well with former PPCC chief Partap Bajwa and his supporters staying away from his visit.

His wife Charanjit Kaur Bajwa, the sitting MLA of Qadian, too did not turn up.

Interestingly, during an interaction with the local youth, Amarinder was posed a query pertaining to Bajwa's absence. A youth asked him: "Sir, you have been quoted as saying that Bajwa and his kin were involved in drug smuggling. Will you give Bajwa the ticket from Qadian?" Captain replied: "It is up to the high command to decide."

Earlier, Amarinder said if voted to power, he would set up new industry in the area to provide employment opportunities to the youth. He also said they would bring down power tariff.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
