CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Congress said on Friday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was “obsessively scared” of state unit president Capt Amarinder Singh.

AAP’s day begins and ends with only trying to find faults with what he (Amarinder) does or does not do, instead of setting their own house in order, senior Congress MLAs Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Rana Gurjeet Singh and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria said in a statement here.

“The way AAP leaders are trying to malign Amarinder, they seem to be suffering from a congenital phobia of him which they are finding very difficult to come out of,” the leaders said.

They wondered why the AAP leaders, right from those in their “neo-natal stage” such as Durgesh Pathak and the “political deadwood” such as Sukhpal Khaira and Sucha Singh Chhotepur were talking about Amarinder and nothing else.

The party leaders said AAP did not have a single achievement to its credit. “The mess which they have created by literally turning the whole of Delhi into filth and garbage is reflective of their inefficiency,” they said,

The Congress legislators said AAP was surviving on fake publicity. “While the garbage dumps kept piling up in Delhi, the AAP government has been busy buying publicity for itself at a whopping expenditure of Rs 520 crore,” they said, asking the AAP leadership “not to befool the people of Punjab.”
