Patiala : Patiala MP Dr Dharamveer Gandhi, in a statement here on Saturday expressed his anger at the way BJP government and other pseudo patriots were targeting the democratic traditions of JNU (Jawahar Lal Nehru University), the world renowned Institution of India. JNU has great democratic traditions and has produced world class intellectuals from the very day of its inception.
After Hyderabad Central University, the present development in JNU, where left organisations are being specifically dubbed and targeted as Anti-Nationals is a part of deep conspiracy to saffronise the Institutions of higher learning and entire academic atmosphere of the country.
As revealed by various resources it is clear that the Leftist organisations though defending the freedom of expression, the fundamental right of every citizen, were never a part of raising anti India slogans. Instead of arresting nearly half a dozen miscreants the government has slapped sedition charges against Kanhaiya Kumar the president of JNU student Union and sent him for three day police custody.
Demanding immediate release of Kanhaiya Kumar Dr Gandhi condemned this highly undemocratic act of the government and demanded a probe by a sitting judge of Supreme Court to bring truth out of the sequence of events, which took place in JNU in last one week.
