Cong readies youth workers for 2017 polls

LUDHIANA: Ahead of the assembly elections scheduled next year, the Congress party on Tuesday tried to boost the morale of its youth workers by organising a rally attended by All India Youth Congress president Amarinder Singh Warring.

Warring, during a meeting organised at central constituency of Ludhiana near Neela Jhanda Gurudwara at Hargobind Nagar Marg said hard working youth was the need of the hour. He said the party high command should allot tickets for the elections to such committed youth who could win the polls and work for the betterment of the society. 

Warring said that Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Captain Amrinder Singh has supported young workers of the party and has strived hard for their welfare. “I will visit majority of constituencies during the coming months and learn the problems being faced by people of the state. Demands of the youth of the state would also be included in the manifesto of the party,” said Warring. 

Ludhiana youth congress chief Rajiv Raja, who was also present during the meeting said the district unit of the youth wing would lend all needed support to Congress to mark a victory in 2017 elections.
