Chandigarh : Several senior Congress leaders and legislators on Saturday sought the expulsion of Jagmeet Singh Brar for his anti-party activities and utterances in the recent past. “Sooner he is thrown out, the better it will be for the party,” the party leaders said here on Saturday.

In a joint statement, Congress legislators Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Navtej Singh Cheema, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Parminder Singh Pinki, Kewal Dhillon, Sukh Sarkaria, O P Soni, Karan Kaur Brar and Joginder Singh Panjgrain said that Brar was trying to cause too much damage to the party that had given him so much.

The party legislators said that he was sulking since he was not accommodated in the Rajya Sabha. “He should realise that despite losing repeatedly in the Parliament, he was given so much respect by the party and nominated to the Congress Working Committee also,” they pointed out, while adding, “Despite that he continuously hobnobbed with the Opposition parties like BJP and Aam Aadmi Party.”

The Congress leaders accused him of being the most ungrateful person as even after negotiating with the BJP, which refused to induct him in its fold, the Congress took him back. “But within no time he again started flirting with the AAP,” they pointed out.
