CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday termed the dismissal of the Congress government in Uttarakhand unconstitutional. “It amounts to murder of democracy and is a brute attempt at undermining the federal structure of the Constitution,” Amarinder said in a statement.
He also asked Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal to clarify his stand on the issue. “It is a paradox that Badal’s daughterin-law Harsimrat Kaur Badal was party to the cabinet decision that recommended the unconstitutional dismissal of the Uttarakhand government while he himself has always been crying hoarse about the attempts to undermine federal structure of the constitution,” said Amarinder.
