Nawanshahr/Kapurthala : In an attempt to silence his critics for “soft-pedalling” the matter of alleged involvement of Revenue Minister Bikram Majithia in the multi-crore drug racket, PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh today said if dissatisfied with the ongoing probe, they would get the matter reinvestigated against the “mighty minister” after assuming power in 2017.
Amarinder today addressed rallies in Nawanshahr and Kapurthala. He flayed the Badals for being “non-committal” on scrapping Clause 5 of the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act.
‘Won’t contest SGPC poll’
On SGPC elections, the former CM said: “Being a secular party, the Congress does not contest elections of religious bodies. As a devout Sikh, I will surely participate in the SGPC elections and support any organisation that promises to oust the Badals.”
‘Will give Valmikis their due’
Amarinder projected Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans as the leader of Valmikis. As the community leaders sought at least 50 per cent share in the total reserved seats in the Assembly elections, Amarinder said: “We cannot make such commitment as of now, but I assure you that the community will get its due.”
‘BSP, SAD hand in glove’
He alleged that there was an understanding between the BSP and the SAD. “This has also been corroborated by BSP leaders who recently joined the Congress. The BSP has decided not to ally with the Congress as it wants to help the Akali Dal by fielding candidates in all 117 Assembly segments to divide Dalit votes,” he alleged.
On speculations of BJP MP Navjot Sidhu joining AAP, Amarinder said: “Is he joining any party? I do not think so. He is an ill man. He is suffering from thrombosis. Besides, he has a case against him.” Amarinder hinted at re-nomination of Ambika Soni to the Rajya Sabha in July.
