Ludhiana : After Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Capt Amarinder Singh recommended the suspension of All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader Jagmeet Brar, the firebrand leader of Congress took on Captain Amarinder Singh and said, ‘’The Captain is nobody to suspend me. Apart from Captain, if other senior party leaders will recommend my suspension, I will myself leave the party.’’

“I will not demand party ticket, designation, favours but only thing I want that Congress should come on united platform”, said Jagmeet Singh Brar. ‘’I have suggested to the party high command to constitute 15-member committee comprising MPs, MLAs, leaders from all categories and then plan the strategy to contest elections in Punjab,’’ said Brar. Moreover the newly appointed strategist Prashant Kishore has a vision and he can help in forming the Congress government but if leaders will follow him,’’ added Brar.

Talking to Daily Post in Ludhiana, Jagmeet Singh Brar said he would not join Aam Aadmi Party and no talks were on with them but he repeated that Aam Aadmi Party was gaining by the day in Punjab.

Commenting on Shiromani Akali Dal and AAP, Brar said Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has scored by taking stand against Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) and Aam Aadmi Party is concentrating on the important issues such as agricultural crisis and drug menace. AAP is the only party in Punjab which is working hard at ground level and strengthening its base.

Taking a dig at Captain Amarinder Singh, Jagmeet Brar said that he feels that Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal are playing friendly match in Punjab. While referring to Talwandi Sabo by-election, Brar questioned why Captain Amarinder has limited his campaigning to Patiala only and didn’t visit Talwandi Sabo. Meanwhile, raising voice against agriculture crisis and drug menace in Punjab, Jagmeet Brar announced to start signature campaign from Bisakhi. Brar said that he would press the Centre for assistance and funds to end agricultural crisis and demand CBI inquiry into drug trade racket running in Punjab.

Brar also appealed the political leaders for not spending crores of rupees on political rallies but donate the same amount to the families of farmers who have committed suicide.

Rally on Baisakhi in Talwandi Sabo going to be historic: Claims Bittu
Ludhiana: Local MP and Punjab Congress Campaign Committee convener Ravneet Bittu claimed the upcoming conference of Congress party on Baisakhi (April 13) in Talwandi Sabo to be historic in terms of laying the foundation stone of next Congress government in the state. More than 10,000 workers from Ludhiana are likely to attend the conference, he said.

Ravneet said, the recent visit of Captain Amrinder Singh to the city has enthused the workers which is a good omen for the party. Bittu said, the Punjabis who have been at the receiving end of the anti-people policies of the Akali-BJP government in last nine years are desperate to change the situation and are looking towards the Congress as an alternative.

Brar all praise for Ravneet Bittu
Though Captain Amarinder Singh mostly remained on the hit list of Jagmeet Brar but on Saturday Brar praised young Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu. He said Bittu is making efforts to bring unity in the party and motivating youngsters to join Congress. Bittu takes pain and works from heart for the party. ‘’I am the eyewitness to see when Bittu shares his opinion about the party,’’ said Brar. The Congress leaders accompanying Jagmeet Brar feel that Brar wanted party high command to give bigger role to Bittu or announce him as the CM candidate.

After coffee with Capt, Brar to start ‘Jeera lassi with Punjabis’
After Captain Amarinder has started his campaign - Coffee with Captain, to interact with students and industrialists, senior Congress leader Jagmeet Brar also announced to start ‘Jeera lassi with Punjabis’ campaign. Brar said that sharing coffee is a western concept and he will visit every house of Punjab and share Jeera Lassi with Punjabis while listening to their problems and demands.
