Fatehgarh Sahib : Local Congress MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra paid a surprise visit to the grain market at Chanarthal this afternoon and listened to the grievances of the farmers who have been waiting for the weighing of the wheat crop as the officials had failed to provide them ‘bardana’.

Nagra said that the agencies that had purchased the wheat a week ago had not made any payments to the farmers who have been camping at the grain market ever since they arrived with their crop.

Lashing out at the state government for making tall claims that arrangements had been made for the proper lifting of the crop and payment to be made within 24 hours, Nagra claimed that during Capt Amarinder Singh’s rule, farmers did not faced any problems.

Other Congress leaders Gurmukh Singh Pandrali (block president), Baljinder Singh Attapur, Inderpal Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and several local leaders were among those present at the grain market.
