Amritsar : The Chief Minister’s move to have a “reality check” of state-sponsored schemes by approaching beneficiaries randomly on the phone gave Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu yet another chance to launch a scathing attack on him.
She has shot off a letter to Badal claiming that most of the state schemes were nothing but media hype. Appreciating CM’s efforts to call up beneficiaries to get first-hand information about the implementation of the Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana that promises Rs 50,000 cashless treatment and insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh, she said, “Have you come to know the ground reality Badal Sahib? Now you will feel the pain of people who wait for years to get smart health cards, blue cards, old-age pension, widow pension etc.”
“People stand in queues day after day, fill forms repeatedly but end up empty-handed as there is no money for execution of various schemes,” she said.
