CHANDIGARH: The first meeting of the newly elected officebearers of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) saw the party burying internal differences to gun for the “enemy outside”, — the Aam Aadmi Party.

PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh and party’s poll strategist Prashant Kishor put up a picture of bonhomie by travelling to the Congress Bhawan together in a car and sitting and talking to each other during the meeting.

After “settling” its internal wars, the party asked the new team to gun for the AAP and bust its propaganda. “Don’t be in awe of the AAP. Take them head on and demolish their propaganda in villages,” the leaders told the gathering.

Later, in a statement, Captain charged the SAD with “deliberately promoting” the AAP and dismissed the party’s protest against chief minister Parkash Singh Badal as a “friendly match.”

The AAP bubble, Captain said, has already burst in Punjab, adding that the Delhi municipal bypoll results were the reflection of poor performance of the AAP government in the Capital.
