PATIALA: Congress leader and former chief minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal on Sunday met Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale. Accusing the state government of failing to provide security to Sikh preachers and religious figures, she said criminals have lost all fear of the state police. “This is a big failure on part of the Punjab government. The Bargari sacrilege incident, murder of Namdhari matriarch Chand Kaur and the attack on Dhadriawale points to the deteriorating law and order situation in the state,” she said, while demanding imposition of the President’s rule in the state. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Fateh Jung Bajwa also met Dhadrianwale on Sunday. “The Badal government is vitiating the peaceful atmosphere of the state. This is being done in a planned manner to create fear among people,” said Bajwa after the meeting. Claiming people are not happy with the government’s policies, he said the Congress will win the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
