Patiala : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday had closed door confabulations with Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala, who was attacked recently, at his headquarter Gurdwara Parmeshwar Darbar in Patiala. “Kejriwal remained with the religious preacher for about 30 minutes,” an AAP spokesman said.

Dhadrianwala survived a murderous assault allegedly by men from radical Sikh group Damdami Taksal last week in which his associate was killed. Taksal chief Harnam Singh Dhumma has justified the attack.

Kejriwal came by train and left by air for the national capital, the spokesman said. He inquired about Dhadrianwala’s health and took first-hand information about the attack, which occurred on May 17 in Ludhiana district, when his aide Bhupinder Singh Khalsa was shot dead as they halted at the venue of a road-side ‘Chhabeel’ put up by the assailants as a part of a conspiracy to kill the Sikh preacher.

Kejriwal, who was accompanied by senior AAP leaders, assured Sant Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala that his party and the government would support him in his endeavour to get justice.

Capt questions visit

Chandigarh : Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday questioned the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s locus standi in visiting Sant Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala. “Beyond your compulsive fondness to fish in troubled waters you have no purpose in visiting the Sant as you can neither offer any solace nor any solution to him (after the murderous attack),” Capt Amarinder lashed out at Kejriwal.

“You could not find time to visit the spot of the killing of the Congolese citizen, who was lynched to death in your backyard, Vasant Kunj, or stage a protest against the brutal act and still you found full day to visit Punjab,” he said, while questioning his double standards.

The PPCC president said it was quite characteristic of Kejriwal to wait for an untoward incident so that he could peep into Punjab and seize the photo-opportunity ahead of the elections and runaway even without meeting the media as he had no answers or explanation about the purpose of his visit.

“Kejriwal was last seen running away from a Ludhiana marriage palace after being confronted by angry protestors,” Capt Amarinder said.
