Patiala/Chandigarh: The Congress party on Wednesday again reiterated its demand for the CBI inquiry into the attack on the Sikh preacher Sant Ranjit Singh Dhandriawala.

After meeting the Sikh preacher at the Parmeshwar dwar on Wednesday, Channi said that there is no faith in the inquiry of Punjab police as they are totally managing the show one sided till now.

One associate of the Sant was killed in the incident how can the SGPC form a peace committee and try to make a compromise. Is there any law in this country for the people who murdered a saint in daylight and run away? Channi stressed upon time bound CBI inquiry into the whole incident.

Commenting on the law and order situation in Punjab Channi said that the SAD-BJP has utterly failed on this front. Number of incidents related to various crimes is increasing day by day.

“Sukhbir Singh Badal is talking of safe state, I think either the Deputy Chief Minister is not updated on the reality in Punjab or he is not having a professional PR guy who keeps him updated on the incidents happenings in Punjab. Under these circumstances he still claims Punjab safe state” Channi said.
