Chandigarh : Rebutting state Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia's statement that Rahul Gandhi "will lead to the Congress to extinction", Congress Legislature Party leader Charanjit Singh Channi today said Majithia should take back his words.

"Rahul is a dynamic leader with multi-dimensional thought process. He is a visionary leader and will lead the Congress party to victory in the coming elections," Channi said.

Channi said Majithia's only claim to fame was that he was the brother-in-law of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and became a minister by superseding several senior party leaders who had been elected for the second and even third time.

He said Majithia should go around the streets in Amritsar, the very city where he grew up, to have first-hand information about the resentment of people against the Akalis.
