JALANDHAR: Punjab Congress vice-president Sunil Jakhar on Sunday targeted the ruling SAD-BJP government for “issuing misleading advertisements on grants issued by Modi government in last two years.”

“The state government claims to have receive `20,000 crore for development of road infrastructure, including national highways. However, in reality, it has just received `1,800 crore,” Jakhar told reporters here. “The Modi government has released only `6 crore under smart city project. The Akali government’s advertisements, however, claim it has got `500 crore,” he added.

Jakhar said these “misleading ads” have been issued to save party’s central representation.

Over deteriorating law and order situation, he said that state government has miserably failed on all fronts. The Congress will meet President Pranab Mukherjee soon and request him to hold free and fair assembly elections under his supervision as the state government and its leaders are patronising criminals, said Jakhar.
