Bhaini Sahib : Punjab Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today demanded the imposition of President's rule in Punjab saying that the law and order situation was out of control with anarchy prevailing all over.
"Given the present situation, Punjab is a fit case for President's rule to restore confidence of the people," he said, while referring to the attack on Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale and the killing of Mata Chand Kaur, besides other serious incidents of violence in the state.
He said there was an atmosphere of fear prevailing in the state and the Badals were responsible for it.
Amarinder today visited Khasi Kalan village to meet the family of Bhupinder Singh, who was killed in the attack on Dhadrianwale.
He supported the demand for a CBI probe into the attack. He assured the family that once the Congress formed the government in the state, all culprits would be brought to book. He alleged that Badal was shielding the culprits.
He hailed the "ardasia" who refused to present a "siropa" to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, saying it was the expression of widespread anger prevailing among the people against him (Badal).
"The sewadar was right as those responsible for the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib do not deserve a siropa," he said, adding that if Badal "still has some grace he should not allow the persecution of the ardasia".
Amarinder also visited Bhaini Sahib to condole the killing of Mata Chand Kaur. He expressed concern that even after two months of the incident, the killers had not even been identified, Amarinder also attended the bhog ceremony of Harkirat Singh, son of former minister Tej Parkash.
