Chandigarh : Punjab congress vice president and spokesperson Sunil jakhar alleged that the Punjab government has done nothing for the farmers of the state who are going through an agrarian crisis.
He categorically stated that the real income of the farmers has come down by 3.81 per cent since the inflation has grown 7.74 per cent and the MSP has only been increased approximately by 4 per cent. He further said that the claims of the Modi government of increase in the growth is an anecdote (jumla).
Jakhar asked the Chief Minister to approach the Prime Minister over agrarian crisis pointing out the crash in the prices of Basmati which affected the farmers and sheller owners of the Malwa region.
