New Delhi : In a bid to make Punjab’s leadership accessible, the Congress is all set to re-start the second leg of ‘Coffee with Capt’ series tomorrow with ex-servicemen at Pathankot.

The PPCC chief will meet 2000 ex- servicemen in the town which witnessed a terror strike this January. Sources in the party said that the session will be the first of the 80 which had been planned over the coming months. Coffee with Captain, mooted by Punjab poll strategist Prashant Kishor, is primarily aimed at bringing an elusive royal Capt Amarinder among the people and helping him expand his public appeal.

The campaign is driven by feedback which Kishor’s team received earlier. Most state leaders, while vouching for Capt’s leadership, had told Kishor that inaccessibility was his problem.

Tomorrow’s session is special considering Capt Amarinder Singh fought in the 1965 war and will have many stories to share with ex-servicemen. This will be the first occasion when a former CM will hold an interactive session. Of course one rank, one pension will be a big part of the discussion,” said a member of Kishor’s team which has already invited 100 questions from ex- servicemen of districts which are not being represented tomorrow.

So far, Indian Political Action Committee of Kishor has organised four successful sessions of Coffee with Capt, with students as the main target.
