Muktsar : Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh will lead a dharna in CM Parkash Singh Badal’s Assembly constituency at Lambi village tomorrow in protest against the recruitment scam.

Congress activists have put up a tent for holding the dharna outside the Lambi police station. Former PPP chief-turned-Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal has been tasked with making it a show of strength. The party is seeking a CBIprobe into the scam in an attempt to corner the state government.

Gurmeet Singh Khudian, DCC president, Muktsar, said, “The protest will be held in a peaceful manner and traffic will not be blocked. The PCC chief is expected to arrive around 11.30 am and the dharna will last till 1.30 pm. We are expecting 15,000 to 18,000 people from Muktsar and Bathinda,” he added.

Malout Subdivisional Magistrate (SDM) Vishesh Sarangal, said, “Permission to use a loudspeaker has been given to the Congress activists.”

Muktsar SSP Gurpreet Singh Gill said, “Proper arrangements will be made so that there is no inconvenience to the public.”

Lunch with Manpreet

Amarinder will first have tea with Khudian at 10.30 am. After the protest, he will drive down to Badal village for lunch with Manpreet.
