Bathinda : In his outreach programme “Coffee with Captain”, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh today made several promises to farmers gathered here to discuss their problems.

The state Congress chief also promised to give free electricity to run tubewells, besides lowering the power tariff to Rs4 per unit from Rs7 per unit.

Lashing out at the Badal government, Amarinder said: “I had prepared a base for 20 lakh jobs during my tenure which the Akalis destroyed when they came to power. Anti-farmer policies, irregular payment and lack of incentives have spelt doom for the farming sector.”
