Pursue SYL in SC, not villages: Capt to Badal

Chandigarh : Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh today asked Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to pursue the matter regarding SYL canal in the Supreme Court instead of getting resolutions passed in panchayats across the state.

“This is a lame attempt by Badal to cover up weakening of the case in the Supreme Court,” he said in a statement. Amarinder said the state must insist on setting up a fresh tribunal that would look into the actual availability of water before a final decision was taken.

He said if Badal he was serious about the matter, he must use all available legal and constitutional means.
