Jagraon : Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh today met local residents and listened to their grievances for about three hours as part of his “Halke vich Captain” programme. Amarinder reiterated his resolve to rid the state of drugs in four weeks, if voted to power.
He said unemployment and drugs were the biggest problems faced by the people in Punjab. “Currently around 70 lakh youths of the state are jobless. More than 70 per cent youths are addicted to drugs. After forming government in Punjab, the Congress will generate sufficient employment avenues for the state youth,” said the former CM.
Others present were Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, Avtar Henry, Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Gurcharan Boparai.
