Bhattal woos Ludhiana bizmen

Ludhiana: Eyeing the vote bank of industrialists here, senior Congress leaders, including Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Manpreet Badal and others held a series of meeting with members of various industrialists and traders association in the city on Tuesday.

During the meeting hosiery and garment industry representatives demanded world class exhibition centre to host international exhibitions and an airport in Ludhiana. Senior office-bearers of Knit’s and Fab Hosiery Association said that they need a separate focal point for garment industry in Ludhiana. They also discussed the issue of change of land use, power supply and other with the Congress leaders.

Vice-president of Congress Manpreet Badal said that the manifesto of the party would be out in October and they would include the demands of industrialists and traders in their manifesto.

Member of Parliament Ravneet Bittu, MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Youth Congress president Rajiv Raja besides several others were present during the meeting.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
