KAPURTHALA: Calling the proposed dope test of college-going students and police job-seekers a mere face-saving exercise of the state government, Congress member of the Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Dullo, on Friday, dared deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to come on a public platform and undergo a dope test.
Dullo and Batala Congress MLA Ashwani Sekhri blamed the state government for drug smuggling in the state during the Congress workers’ meeting organised by Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjit Singh here.
“The dope tests of students and youths will be just an eyewash to save the government’s image, ahead of assembly elections. If the deputy CM has courage, he along with his cabinet ministers should undergo dope test and make the report public, to reveal the truth. He said that the SAD was responsible for the drug problem that has ruined the lives of Punjab’s youths.
Dullo said that Sukhbir and his cabinet minister Bikram Majithia’s names also cropped up in connection with the drug menace and addiction. “If they are not drug addicts, the dope test will clear all the air on them,” he said.
