Zira (Ferozepur): A huge meeting of leaders and workers of Indian National Congress (INC) took place on Sunday at Zira legislative assembly constituency which is a part of Ferozepur district and Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency of Punjab.
While addressing the gathering of the party members Vijay Inder Singla, national spokesperson of the All India Congress Committee and ex-MP from Sangrur, came down heavily on the SAD and BJP for failing to control the drug abuse problem endemic in Punjab. He said, “The SAD doesn’t even acknowledge the existence of drug problem as it will then put the onus on its incumbent government to fight it. Instead, the party acts as if there is no drug menace because it earns monetary benefits from the drug running and consumption.” He further said, “The SAD and BJP are blaming each other for the failure of the fight against drugs and while doing that, they are also dragging BSF in their shadow boxing. Now, when the alliance partners are in power in both in Centre and the state then why no action is being taken to eliminate the drug epidemic”.
