Bhoa: Even as AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal professed his party MLA's innocence in the Malerkotla Quran desecration case, CLP leader Charanjit Singh Channi urged him to stop playing politics over the sensitive issue. Channi on Monday addressed a gathering of party workers here. Kejriwal, during his Gurdaspur visit today, said the state government was unnecessarily dragging AAP into the controversy as its MLA Naresh Yadav had nothing to do with it. Channi said if Kejriwal thought that the MLA was not involved, he should order him to join the investigation. "The main accused is Vijay Garg. Going by the reports, both Yadav and Garg shared close relations and were not mere acquaintances as is being claimed by AAP. They had lengthy telephonic conversations in the past. On what basis Kejriwal has given his MLA a clean chit," Channi asked. Channi said Kejriwal had alleged Congress hand in Yadav's alleged implication. "He has no proof to support his frivolous charge,” he added.
