‘Halke Vich Captain’in Atam Nagar today

Ludhiana : A day before the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Capt Amarinder Singh is scheduled to visit Atam Nagar constituency to meet residents, party workers under the campaign Halke Vich Captain, the top contenders for the party ticket have pulled up their socks to claim for the party tickets.

Several rounds of meetings were held by Atam Nagar constituency incharge Kulwant Singh Sidhu, former district president KK Bawa, youth leader Parvinder Lapran to make the event successful and to show their strength.

After the meeting attended by senior party leaders Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Brahm Mahindra, it will be the second meeting of Congress party in Atam Nagar constituency in one week.

The party leaders have also learnt lessons from past and assigned the duties to workers to arrange huge gathering. Last time the empty chairs have greeted the senior party leaders. The venue of programme Halke Vich Captain was the same as last time but this time the organisers have installed air conditioners in the hall.

Incharge of Atam Nagar constituency, Kulwant Singh Sidhu said that apart from meeting party leaders, Capt Amarinder will be meeting the residents and listened to their grievances.

Former district president KK Bawa said that the people of constituency were eagerly waiting for Capt Amarinder Singh with their complaints.

The youth leaders Parvinder Singh Lapran who is also eying on the party ticket from the constituency has also held meetings with youngsters to make the event successful.

Earlier, Capt had held similar events in four constituencies and met thousands of people.

The programme Halke Vich Captain is a brainchild of party’s strategist Prashant Kishore through which Capt Amarinder aims to establish a direct contact with the various stakeholders in each of Punjab’s 117 Constituencies.

Kicking off as a 6 month long programme, HVC will see Capt Amarinder Singh visiting every Halka of Punjab and hearing directly from people, their concerns and issues. Not just that; once in power, Capt will set up a Task Force in the first 100 days of his government, which will look into the issues raised by people and work in mission mode towards addressing those in a time bound manner.

Captain to hold following programmes

Lokan da darbar- A grievance hearing and submission forum, wherein Capt will directly engage with the local people; Capt will promise to setup a taskforce to address the noted issues within the first 100 days of his government, Meeting with local media at the event, post which, Capt eats at a local dhaba among local Congress Workers’ Meet- an interactive session whereas the PCC Chief, Captain will meet local party workers, supporters, office bearers, and members of the frontal organisations, Meeting with local influencers- Capt will engage with locally renowned individuals.
