New Delhi: A former Ludhiana district Congress president, Pawan Dewan was on Friday appointed as party’s Punjab unit general secretary. A confidante of PCC chief Amarinder Singh, Dewan was ousted by the former PCC chief Pratap Singh Bajwa. “Congress President Sonia Gandhi has approved the appointment of Pawan Dewan as general secretary of PPCC and Chamkaur Singh Dhindsa as president of District Congress Committee, Ferozepur,” AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said in an order. Congress had announced a jumbo PPCC recently, while accommodating a large number of Punjab Congressmen in the list.
