NAKODAR: Congress manifesto draft committee head Rajindar Kaur Bhattal on Saturday said that Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has reached the brink of his political end as all sections of society were feeling suffocated under his rule.

Addressing a workers’ meet of Nakodar assembly constituency here, former chief minister described Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) as a party of mad people. She said that Badal has failed to obtain the Governors’ approval for the bill passed by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on the Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal (SYL) as his intention is bad.
Bhattal said that Badal copied her programme of giving free power to the agriculture sector but he gave benefits to big farmers whereas her plan was meant for 5-acre owners. She said he he had virtually destroyed the agriculture sector.
Bhattal said Captain Amarinder Singh is the party’s face for the chief minister’s post, however, final decision will be taken by the high command. Jalandhar Lok Sabha member Chaudhary Santokh Singh alleged that there is no rule of law but only “Badal Raj”. He said that murders have become a routine in the state.
Congress Jalandhar incharge Ranna KP Singh said that this time it is a fight between the king of looters Parkash Singh Badal and patriot-cum able administrator Captain Amarinder Singh.
Jalandhar (rural) president Jagbir Singh Brar said that the Badal government has created the ‘sand scam’ term.
Former Nurmahal MLA GS Atwal, who is a strong contender for the ticket from Nakodar constituency ,was conspicuous by his absence.
