Fatehgarh Sahib : Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh today denied reports that there were any differences between him and the party’s chief spokesman Sunil Jakhar. He said he was with Jakhar on the SYL issue. He said Jakhar had always worked in the highest interest of the party.

Amarinder also rejected the Aam Aadmi Party’s charges that he used the Golden Temple’s picture on a poll campaign poster. He said: “The whole of Punjab and the Punjabi community world over knows my commitment and credentials too well to be questioned by someone like Sukhpal Khaira.”

Talking to the media after attending the bhog of local MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra’s mother, he said Khaira was trying to be more loyal than the king without realising that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, whom he was trying to please, would use and dump him. He alleged that Kejriwal had a habit of using and dumping people the way he did with Anna Hazare, Prashant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav, Dharamvira Gandhi and many others, and Khaira would be no exception.

Meanwhile, Asha Kumari, incharge Punjab Congress affairs, read out the condolence messages of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Senior party leaders Ambika Soni, Charanjit Channi and Shamsher Singh Dullo also spoke on the occasion.
