Channi said that the marriage of convenience between SAD-BJP had befooled the state for the last nine years
Chandigarh : The double face of the Badal family stands exposed again before the entire world as while Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal insulted a sitting Union Minister at a state-level function in Punjab, on the other side, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and his wife as well as Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal were hobnobbing with a Union Minister of the same party in New Delhi.
Asking the BJP Central leadership, Leader of the Opposition Charanjit Singh Channi on Sunday said to kindly listen to the grievances of their party leaders of the state who are daily being insulted by the SAD leadership.
It has not happened for the first time Navjot Kaur Sidhu, Madan Mohan Mittal, Laxmi Kanta Chawla are few prominent names which have been time and again victimised and insulted by the SAD leadership of the state.
On Sunday, Union Minister and Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla was also given the same treatment when he preferred not to speak on the state level function because of his name being missing from the invitation cards and the backdrop of the stage. Incidentally, the venue of the function, Ghuman village also falls under his Parliamentary constituency.
Channi further said that the marriage of convenience between the two parties has befooled the people of Punjab for the last nine years. On Sunday, the Deputy Chief Minister and his wife are seen hobnobbing with the Union Ministers of the same party in New Delhi.
He said, “Except a photo opportunity, what has junior Badal brought from Modi government till now? The Badals should tell the people of Punjab what they have got from the Modi government for the betterment of the state. Why didn’t junior Badal talk about the financial package for bailing the state out of debt? Why there was no demand for one time package for the farmers who are daily committing suicides?”
