Dharamsot terms Navjot Sidhu a ‘backstabber’

Ludhiana : Reacting to the recent developments of resignation of cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu as nominated member of Rajya Sabha, Senior Congress leader Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that Sidhu has resigned as he was not inducted into Union Cabinet by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Vice chairman of Punjab Congress Election Campaign Committee Sadhu Singh Dharamsot who visited Daily Post Ludhiana office on Monday said that tolerating Sidhu from several years was the blunder of BJP. It was giving prime posts to Navjot Sidhu but even then the Sidhus were not loyal to the party and backstabbed them while eyeing the big post in the another party.

Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that Sidhu was in hope for induction in Union Cabinet but when S S Ahluwalia became a minister in the Cabinet Sidhu resigned from Rajya Sabha and committed fraud with the party. Dharamsot, who is also MLA from Nabha said that Sidhu has had not served the people or any other party and directly got the Lok Sabha ticket from Amritsar by BJP. Later, he was nominated as Rajya Sabha member but he always maintained distance from his constituency Amritsar.

Calling Sidhu an opportunist, Dharamsot said few hours after his resignation Navjot Sidhu was eyeing on the post of Chief Ministerial candidate of Aam Aadmi Party.

Commenting on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), senior Congress leader Dharamsot termed AAP leaders as ‘Nautanki’. Arvind Kejriwal didn’t apologise for the blunders of AAP and its leader and only did a formality by washing already cleaned utensils at Golden Temple.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is now becoming the party of VVIPs. They were inducting officials, rejected politicians but the common man is being ignored in the AAP. All the AAP leaders were assuming themselves as ministers and MLA’s and have no spirit to serve the people.

Sidhu’s resignation a big jolt for BJP, advantage for AAP, says Dhanda

Former Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Harish Rai Dhanda said that the recent developments of Navjot Sidhu’s resignation is big jolt to Bhartiya Janta party (BJP) and will be an advantage to the Aam Aadmi party (AAP) as Sidhu is a celebrity and popular in Punjab. No doubt AAP was on the downfall and Congress was emerging stronger presently but Sidhu’s induction will definitely be in favour of Aam Aadmi Party. Senior advocate Harish Rai Dhanda feels this time the election result will be unpredictable but the joining Sidhus AAP seems a possibilty.
