FEROZEPUR: Vice president of Punjab pradesh congress committee, Manpreet Singh Badal, while addressing a meeting of party rank and file of Ferozepur (rural) assembly segment, asked the members to gear up to overthrow SAD(B)-BJP in the 2017 polls, on Monday.

“The political scene in Punjab is all set to change and with our regain of power in state. We will work for the state and its people,” said Manpreet.

“2017 poll is a golden chance to defeat Akalis under the command of Captain Amarinder Singh and ensure return of glory to Punjab and Punjabis,” he said during the meeting arranged by local leader Satkar Kaur.

“There is hardly any section left in the society that has not been exploited by Akalis-BJP in the last nine years of misrule,” said Satkar Kaur.

“It’s a sad phase for Punjab as its farmers are committing suicide,” said senior congress leader and MLA Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi.

“Congress government, if voted to power, would enact a special law to protect the lands of farmers,” said former MLA from Ludhiana, Rakesh Pandey.

“We will look into all the cases in whic h innocent congress men have been implicated under political vendetta,” said Pandey.
