Jalandhar : A day after his suspension, Jalandhar Cantonment MLA Olympian Pargat Singh on Wednesday said that the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was a party of ‘chamchas’ and ‘dalals’, which had now become ‘mentally bankrupt’.
The Jalandhar Cantonment MLA, who was suspended from the SAD by party state president Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said that nothing could be worse than the rule of SAD in Punjab. “If raising voice for the welfare of public and development works amounts to ‘indiscipline’, then yes I have created indiscipline,” he said.
Pargat also said that after his suspension from SAD late on Tuesday night, he felt ‘relieved’, though he cleared that he never made any plans of resigning from the party. “But, after the suspension orders, I have made up my mind to stay in politics. As far as joining a new party was concerned, I am yet to take a decision,” he added.
Addressing a press conference Pargat dodged queries on whether he was going to joinAAP or Congress, but said that even if SAD top brass revoked his suspension, he would never come back to the SAD fold.
