Punjab govt encouraging drug usage: Laal Singh

Patiala : Punjab Congress’s senior vice-president Laal Singh on Wednesday while hitting hard at the Punjab government accused it of encouraging drug menace in the state and added that due to the unchecked availability of drugs in the state “our youth are going on a wrong path” and announced that if voted to power in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state the party would clean the state of this menace in shortest possible time.

He made these remarks while addressing a workers’ meet here in connection to the party’s program to gear up itself for the assembly elections slated for 2017.

But when asked about the ongoing speculations over change of assembly segment this time, he announced that he would contest assembly election from Sanour seat.

Party MLA from Patiala rural seat, Brahm Mohindra said that due to mismanagement on the part of the state government during the past over 9 years the debt over the state had increased many fold.

Though former MP Rana Gurjit Singh and Punjab Congress incharge for Patiala Amar Singh too were present in this meeting, but they just watched the proceedings.
