Constituted a committee, which will take suggestions from locals, and then take decision on his future course of action

Jalandhar : In an apparent show of strength, suspended Jalandhar Cantonment MLA Pargat Singh on Thursday held a meeting with as many as 51 panchayat members of the total 61 villages of his constituency at Mithapur, where he sought public response before making a final ‘political move’.

Pargat Singh also constituted a committee, which would take suggestions from the locals and then take a final decision on his future course of action. “Public suggestion will be important and a final decision will be taken only after reviewing the response from the committee,” the MLA said.

The Jalandhar Cantonment MLA said that he would take the next ‘political move’ on joining Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or Congress in consultation with the electorate from his constituency. “I am committed to the electorate of my constituency and I will not take any step without keeping them into confidence,” he added. Among the panchayat members was former block samiti member from Sansarpur village Abinder Singh Kular, who said that they supported ‘truth’ and MLA Pargat Singh stood by them against solid waste management plant at Jamsher. “Who would support garbage and filth in front of their houses? We are glad that MLA Pargat took a stand for us,” he said.
