Is it illegal and inappropriate to post a video showing how questions are taken up in Parliament during the Question Hour? Did my video pose a security threat to Parliament? BHAGWANT MANN, Sangrur MP

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann, who shot on Thursday a video of his journey to Parliament that showed security pickets and their locations at the high-security zone, may be in for some trouble.

Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan is likely to seek an explanation from Mann, who drew criticism for uploading the 11-minute clip on social media that raised questions over the safety of lawmakers.

“She (the speaker) has taken cognisance of the matter. On Friday, she will also call the security cell of Parliament security division to seek their views...No one is expected to reveal the sensitive security arrangements of Parliament complex,” said a senior official of the Lok Sabha secretariat.

MP REMAINS UNFAZED

Mann, however, remained unfazed and said he would again post a Facebook live video on Friday.

“Is it illegal and inappropriate to post a video showing how questions are taken up in Parliament during the Question Hour? Did my video pose a security threat to Parliament? I will do a live video again tomorrow; let them serve me a notice,” the Sangrur MP told reporters outside Parliament. “I will do it again, and you too air it live at 8.50 am.”

In the video, Mann is even heard narrating the security procedures that an MP are subjected to while entering the Parliament building. In the 11 minute 52 second video, Mann is seen entering the Parliament lobby with the phone where he also recorded the procedure of asking questions during Zero Hour.
