Jalandhar : Even as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann apologized for uploading the security video of Parliament on Facebook, former Punjab Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal demanded strict action against Mann from the BJP led Modi government.
Bhattal lashed out at the AAP leader and said that Mann was himself not aware of what he was doing. “The uploading of security video of Parliament yet again shows his lack of knowledge and seriousness as a responsible MP,” she said.
The senior Congress leader also said that Mann’s position was equally bad in his own constituency, where he had not visited in the recent past. “People in Sangrur were aware of Bhagwant Mann’s activities, which he has again proved by uploading the security check video of Parliament,” she added.
Bhattal also termed AAP as ‘daduan di party’ (party of frogs) , which was on the verge of internal collapse and said that during the Lok Sabha elections 2014 people were looking forward to a change and they preferred trying AAP as an option.
“However, now the AAP mania has fizzled out and the party’s situation was getting bad to worse with each passing day. People would vote for Congress in the coming assembly elections,” she said.
The senior Congress leader was here in Jalandhar North constituency for worker’s meet with ex-Cabinet minister Avtar Henry and his son Bawa Henry in the presence of senior Congress leaders.
Earlier, when confronted about the video of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi found napping in the Parliament, Bhattal said, “We don’t know the truth behind that video and neither we were aware of its timing. It is an old video.”
During the workers meet, Bhattal projected Bawa Henry as the prospective candidate from Jalandhar North constituency. Meanwhile, BJP leader Chief Parliamentary Secretary and sitting Jalandhar North MLA KD Bhandari’s cousin Dinesh Bhandari joined Congress in the presence of Bhattal.
