Ferozepur : After the clashes between Congressmen and BJP as well as SAD activists, the Congress has now decided to continue its struggle in the future also. The Punjab Youth Congress announced that Youth Congress workers will hold protest and hold demonstrations at all the district headquarters in the state on July 25 for denial of installation of gym in Ferozepur by the Municipal Council, that was being installed by the Congress MLA Parminder Singh Pinky, stated Amarpreet Singh Lalli, president Punjab Youth Congress. He also complained about the high-handedness on the part of ruling party workers.

It is pertinent to mention here that there had been a clash on Friday between Congress and BJP workers when dozens of Congressmen and cops, including a DSP, got injured and the city police had registered a case against leader of Congress and around 500-600 workers. After the clash and the FIR, MLA Parminder Singh Pinky said that it was his constitutional right to protest peacefully publicly and no police force can stop him to use his fundamental duty given by the Constitution.

Pinky said that if the police registered any case against him on the directions of the BJP leaders, there will be a such state level huge protest, which may paralyse the state for which the police administration and the civil administration would be accountable. He asked the police officials to be wary of lodging false cases against him or any other worker of the Congress. He accused the SHO Ferozepur City for allowing the BJP to store bricks, wooden sticks and other material to hurt and injure the Congressmen. He also said that the police’s duty was to control the law and order in the state, but the SHO encouraged the BJP leaders of the city to violate the law and order of the city.
